Battlefleet Gothic: Armada cũng mang các tính năng chính đáng chú ý như việc các đối thủ máy cũng có thể xem xét tình hình xung quanh, từ đó ra quyết định khiêu chiến với bạn hay không hoặc cho phép bạn có thể tái tạo lại các một chiến hạm từ các mảnh vỡ khác. Ngoài ra, đã là một tựa game chiến thuật thì không thể không kế đến yếu tố nâng cấp, game có rất nhiều kĩ năng cũng như vũ khí để nâng cấp cho tàu chính cũng như toàn hạm đội của bạn.
