Assetto Corsa là một "tân binh" mới bước chân vào ngành công nghiệp game, cụ thể là ở đây là thị trường game đua xe vốn còn có những tên tuổi như Need For Speed, Grid,... sở hữu tốc độ phát triển nhanh hơn, các cuộc cạnh tranh khốc liệt hơn cả những trường đua ở ngoài đời thật.
Dù là một tựa game được phát triển độc lập (Indie), bởi một hãng phát triển nhỏ tên Kunos Simulazioni, nhưng ta có thể thấy đồ họa của Assetto Corsa vẫn được đầu tư một cách nhất định, với điểm nhấn là các mô hình xe cộ có độ chi tiết cao, các trường đua mang lại cảm giác chân thực cho người chơi.
Là một tựa game đua xe, nên hiển nhiên Assetto Corsa sở hữu những thương hiệu xe nổi tiếng nhất ở thế giới thực, ví dụ như Bmw, Ferrari, Lotus,... Game cũng hỗ trợ chế độ chơi trực tuyến, cũng như hỗ trợ song song hai loại ngoại ngữ tiếng Anh và tiếng Ý.
