Trine 2 is a sidescrolling game of action, puzzles and platforming
where you play as one of Three Heroes who make their way through
dangers untold in a fantastical fairytale world.
Join Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight and Zoya the Thief in their
adventure full of friendship, magic and betrayal.
Trine 2: Complete Story fully integrates the Goblin Menace expansion
campaign and the all-new unlockable Dwarven Caverns level into one
mighty fairytale. All owners of Trine 2: Goblin Menace are
automatically upgraded to the Complete Story edition.

Với nội dung tiếp nối phiên bản đầu tiên, Trine 2 tiếp tục đưa người chơi nhập vai 3 nhân vật “truyền thống” : pháp sư, hiệp sĩ và nữ đạo chích trên con đường hành hiệp qua thế giới được thể hiện dưới dạng side-scrolling (tương tự như Mario) của game. Tối đa 3 người chơi có thể cộng tác qua phần chơi mạng online của game.
Các màn chơi của game được sắp xếp một cách khéo léo để người chơi buộc phải vận dụng tối đa khả năng của mỗi nhân vật để có thể vượt qua. Trong khi hiệp sĩ có khả năng cận chiến rất tốt thì pháp sư có thể dùng bùa chú để tạo ra các bậc thang để người chơi đến với địa điểm mới, còn đạo chích có tốc độ rất cao có thể đu dây và tấn công đối thủ từ xa bằng cung tên.
Trine 2 là phần tiếp theo của tựa game Trine, ra mắt năm 2009 cho PC, Mac và PlayStation 3. Với lối chơi platform được cải tiến mới lạ và hấp dẫn, game được giới phê bình và game thủ đánh giá rât cao với số điểm trung bình 80%.
Trine lấy bối cảnh một vương quốc xa xôi thanh bình nọ bỗng rơi xuống bờ vực sụp đổ khi nhà vua qua đời mà không có người nối dõi. Nhân cơ hội đó, một đạo quân xác chết đột nhiên xuất hiện, tấn công và hủy diệt vương quốc.
Trong bối cảnh hỗn loạn đó, Zoya - một nữ đạo chích khét tiếng xuất hiện và lên đường tìm kiếm một báu vật mang tên “Trine” tại học viện ma thuật Astral của vương quốc. Cùng lúc đó, pháp sư Amadeus cũng có mặt tại đây để quan sát bầu trời, và hiệp sĩ Pontius cũng cùng lúc tới nơi để thực hiện nhiệm vụ bảo vệ học viện. Cả 3 người gặp nhau tại phòng chứa báu vật, cùng chạm vào thứ báu vật đó và cùng biến mất.
Bí mật của món báu vật “Trine” chính là khả năng kết hợp linh hồn của nó. Do vậy lúc này trong 3 người chỉ có 1 người có thể tồn tại còn 2 người còn lại bị kẹt trong “Trine”. Để giải thoát cho chính mình, họ chỉ còn cách cùng hợp tác để tìm ra nhưng vật báu còn lại, được canh gác bởi những người lính gác huyền tại tại những hầm mộ bí mật.
