Trong khuôn khổ sự kiện triển lãm New York Comic Con, hãng phát hành Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment đã giới thiệu những hình ảnh đầu tiên của tựa game hành động phiêu lưu LEGO Marvel’s Avengers. Đây là phiên bản thứ 2 của series các game kết hợp các siêu anh hùng của Marvel với thương hiệu xếp hình nổi tiếng, sau LEGO Marvel’s Super Heroes. Cùng với đó, tựa game này sẽ tóm tắt lại cốt truyện của 2 phần phim Avengers, 2 phần phim của Captain America, Iron Man 3 và Thor The Dark World.
Trong phiên bản này, tất cả các âm thanh của game đều sẽ được lấy từ những thước phim gốc để đảm bảo tính chân thực của series Avengers. Cùng với đó, game cũng sẽ có sự xuất hiện của hơn 100 nhân vật siêu anh hùng có thể điều khiển được bởi người chơi. Tất cả những nhân vật này đều đã từng xuất hiện trong các bộ truyện tranh, series phim truyền hình, phim truyện và phim hoạt hình của Marvel. Trước đó, đạo diễn của game là Arthur Parsons đã từng tuyên bố rằng: “Sản phẩm này sẽ là một bữa tiệc của mọi thứ về Avengers. Truyện tranh, hoạt hình, điện ảnh, tất cả những gì mà người hâm mộ mong muốn về nhóm siêu anh hùng này đều sẽ được đưa vào trong bộ game này”.
