Trò chơi bắn súng mới của hãng sản xuất Teyon giúp game thủ cảm nhận sự khốc liệt của cuộc chiến tranh hiện đại với hàng loạt vũ khí hạng nặng.

Trong vai lính Mỹ, game thủ được giao nhiệm vụ tiêu diệt toàn bộ những kẻ khủng bố nguy hiểm đang trú ẩn tại Afghanistan. Thuộc thể loại on-rail shooter, nhân vật vẫn bắn súng dưới góc nhìn thứ nhất, tuy nhiên mọi hoạt động di chuyển của anh ta đều được tự động điều khiển. Nhiệm vụ của người chơi chỉ đơn giản là ngắm và bắn.

Chuỗi nhiệm vụ trong Heavy Fire: Afghanistan cũng khá phong phú, từ việc phòng ngự căn cứ, phong tỏa các tuyến đường của một thị trấn, săn đuổi kẻ thù trong rừng rậm và giải cứu con tin. Đặc biệt, người chơi còn được tham gia lái trực thăng và xe tăng bắn tỉa tương tự như Battlefield.

Đồ họa và khả năng phá hủy môi trường của Heavy Fire: Afghanistan được đánh giá cao, tuy chưa thể so sánh với một sản phẩm bắn súng lấy đề tài chiến tranh hàng khủng hiện nay là Battlefield 3. Hệ thống vũ khí của game tương đối đa dạng về chủng loại, từ súng lục, pháo, lựu đạn... Game gồm 24 màn chơi và có cả chế độ co-op tối đa 4 người.
